Energy Leadership Index™ Background – An Attitudinal Assessment

The Energy Leadership Index™

The Energy Leadership Index™  (ELI) is a one-of-a-kind assessment. It was developed by The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, or iPEC, the world-class organization I chose for my coaching certification.

The ELI shows you your current perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall capacity to lead yourself and others. It does this by graphing a baseline of your current approach and tendencies, both when things are going pretty well and when you’re feeling stressed.

What you’ll learn from our conversation about your ELI results will change the way you view yourself and your world. In fact, it inspired and enlightened me when I did it for myself after years of all kinds of training. So now I use it regularly in my work as a life coach.

More Background on the ELI

There are two main types of assessments:

Personality-based assessments like the Myers-Briggs are great tools that pinpoint personality types. They help people understand their natural tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses. By understanding your personality, you can adapt your behavior.

The Energy Leadership Index™ (ELI) is an attitudinal assessment. It measures your level of energy based on your attitudes: your current perceptions and perspectives. Attitude is subjective. This means it can be altered. You can work with your coach using the ELI. You can change your perceptions, expand your consciousness, and increase your energy and leadership effectiveness.

There are no limits to the growth you can achieve. Once you realize your actions relate directly to your attitudes and “filters”, you can expand your energy leadership to function optimally in all walks of life.

As part of the Energy Leadership Index™ assessment, you receive a written report of the findings. Then, using those results, your coach will debrief you in a one-on-one session. In this personalized conversation, you learn about the seven levels of leadership and see how much energy you currently have in the catabolic range and in the anabolic range. This information then informs the individual coaching you receive on how to navigate to peak performance.

More than a hundred years ago, Albert Einstein addressed the scientific community on his idea that everything we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell is not matter, but energy. In fact, everything that “matters” is energy.

So are you ready to energize your leadership, and your life?
